THE 49TH Annual Appalachian Festival

May 11-13, 2018
Mother’s Day Weekend • Rain or Shine
Coney Island, Cincinnati, Ohio

The Annual Appalachian Festival at Coney Island is one of my favourite events of the season! The festival is chock full of activities, sights, sounds, and food – perfect for the whole family.

  • Live Folk Music
  • Traditional Dancing Exhibitions; clogging, highland dancers, Native American dances
  • Historical Demonstrations in the “Living History” area showing how our Native American and Settler Appalachian ancestors lived – Iron pot cooking over a fire, camping, woodworking, furniture making, dancing, games; young and old are encouraged to join in the games and dancing!
  • Story Telling and other hands-on activities for children.
  • Food – So many delicious traditional Appalachian foods and modern-day recipe food vendors. Be sure to try the fresh kettle cooked popcorn!

Springtime on the Ohio River at one of the best festivals the tri-state region has to offer. Perfect for Mother’s day celebration!  Bring the whole family and shop, tour, take a picnic lunch on the river. Maybe even head over to historic Coney Island park and take out a paddle boat or ride another classic ride.  The Annual Appalachian Festival draws an estimated 50,000 people over the 3-day weekend.  Be sure not to miss this event!
